  • 항문 속이나 질 속에 넣어 어떤 병을 치료하는 데 쓸 수 있는 덩어리 약을 좌약이라고 한다.
  • 여러 종류의 좌약이 있다. ([부모도 반의사가 되어야 한다-소아가정간호백과]-제 9권 소아청소년 소화기 질환 참조)
  •  변비,
  •  변비증, 
  •  좌약을 항문 속에 넣는 방법 참조. 
  •  아스피린 좌약 참조. 
  •  타이레놀 좌약 참조. 
  • 글리세린 좌약은 여유들에게 생긴 경미한 변비증을 치료하는 데 주로 쓴다. 
  • 글리세린 좌약은 가격도 싸고 부작용이 거의 없어 연령에 관계없이 쓰기 좋으나 변비 치료효력이 약한 것이 단점이다. 
  • 의사의 처방 없이 약국에서 사서 쓸 수 있다.

비사코딜 좌약  Bisacodyl suppository

  • 비사코딜은 완화제의 일종이고 변비치료에 주로 쓴다. 
  • 의사의 처방 없이 약국 진열장에서 구해 쓸 수 있다.
  • 비사코딜 성분으로 만든 변비약에는 

1) 둘코락스 정,

2) 플리트 비사코딜 에네마,

3) 둘코락스 좌약 등이 있다. 

  • 둘코락스 좌약은 쓰기가 간편하고, 부작용도 적고 배변시키는 효력도 상당히 좋다. 
  • 둘코락스 좌약은 의사의 처방 없이 약국에서 사서 쓸 수 있다. 
  • 12세 이전 영유아들, 학령기 아이들에게 변비가 생기면 둘코락스 좌약의 반을 항문 속에 넣어 직장 속에 꽉 차있는 굳은 변비 변을 배변시킬 수 있다. 
  • 12세나 그 이후 사춘기 아이들의 변비는 둘코락스 좌약 하나를 통째로 항문 속에 넣어 배변 치료를 할 수 있다. 
  • 둘코락스 좌약을 항문 속에 넣은 후 30분~1시간 이내 대변하는 것이 보통이다. 
  • 특별한 경우를 제하고 의사의 지시 없이 둘코락스 좌약은 3~4일 이상 계속 써서는 안 된다.

 아스피린 좌약 Aspirin suppository drugs

  • 어떤 병을 치료할 때 아스피린을 경구로 섭취 할 때 아스피린 부작용이나 알레르기가 생기지 않았지만 아스피린 치료를 시작하기 전부터 원래 있는 병으로 인해 구토 할 때나 
  • 아스피린으로 꼭 치료를 시작해야 하지만 아스피린을 먹지 않을 때는 경구용 아스피린으로 치료 하는 대신 아스피린 좌약으로 치료 할 수 있다. 
  • 아스피린 좌약의 1회 용량은 경구용 아스피린의 1회 용량과 같다.

아세트아미노펜 좌약 Acetaminophen suppository drugs

  • 아세트아미노펜은 해열 진통제의 일종이다.
  • 아세트아미노펜의 대표적인 상품명은 타이레놀이다.
  • 해열이나 진통을 시킬 때 경구용 아세트아미노펜으로 해열시키는 대신 아세트아미노펜 좌약으로 해열이나 진통 시킬 수 있다. 
  • 아세트아미노펜 좌약으로 해열시킬 때 항문 속에서 잘 녹아서 핏속으로 잘 흡수되는지 등 확인하기가 어렵기 때문에 아세트아미노펜 좌약으로 드물게 해열시킨다. 
  • 타이레놀이나 리나펜 등은 아세트아미노펜 성분이 든 상품명이다. 
  • 아세트아미노펜의 1개의 좌약 속에는 80㎎, 120㎎, 325㎎, 650㎎의 아세트아미노펜 성분이 각각 들어 있다. 
  • 아세트아미노펜 좌약의 1회 치료용량은 경구용 아세트아미노펜의 1회 치료 용량과 똑같다. 
  • 경구용 아세트아미노펜을 경구로 먹일 수 없을 때나, 약을 먹으면 토할 때는 경구용 아세트아미노펜으로 치료하는 대신 아세트아미노펜 좌약을 항문에 넣어 치료하든지 아이부프로펜 해열제로 해열시킬 수 있다. 

하이드로코티손 좌약 Hyrocortisone suppository drugs

  • 하이드로코티손은 일종의 코르티코스테로이드제이다.
  • 아누솔-HC 좌약 등 하이드로코티손제의 성분이 들어 있는 좌약에는 여러 종류가 있다.
  • 항문의 주위 염증이나 항문 내 염증으로 생긴 항문 통증을 진통시킬 때,
  • 항문 부종을 경감시킬 때 쓸 수 있다.
  • 치질·항문염·항문 소양증·궤양성 대장염 등을 하이드로코티손 좌약으로 치료할 수 있다.

• Glycerin suppositories are mainly used to treat mild constipation in women.

• Glycerin suppositories are inexpensive and have few side effects, so they can be used regardless of age, but the disadvantage is that they are weak in treating constipation.

• Can be bought at pharmacies without a doctor’s prescription.

Bisacodyl suppository

• Bisacodyl is a kind of laxative and is mainly used to treat constipation.

• You can get it from a pharmacy display case without a doctor’s prescription.

• In laxatives made with bisacodyl ingredients,

1) Dulcolax Tablet,

2) Fleet Bisacodyl Enema,

3) Dulcolax suppository, etc.

• Dulcolax suppository is easy to use, has few side effects, and has a very good bowel movement effect.

• Dulcolax suppositories can be purchased from pharmacies without a doctor’s prescription.

• If constipation occurs in children before 12 years of age or school-age children, you can put half a Dulcolax suppository into the anus to defecate the hard, constipated stools in the rectum.

• For constipation in adolescents aged 12 years or older, a whole Dulcolax suppository can be placed into the anus to treat defecation.

• It is normal to defecate within 30 minutes to 1 hour after inserting the Dulcolax suppository into the anus.

• Except in special cases, the Dulcolax suppository should not be used continuously for more than 3 to 4 days without a doctor’s instruction.

Aspirin suppository drugs

• When taking aspirin by mouth for treatment of any disease, no side effects or allergies to aspirin occurred, but before starting aspirin treatment, vomiting or

• If you must start treatment with aspirin, but do not take aspirin, you can use aspirin suppositories instead of oral aspirin.

• One dose of an aspirin suppository is equivalent to a single dose of oral aspirin.

Acetaminophen suppository drugs

• Acetaminophen is a type of antipyretic analgesic.

• The typical brand name of acetaminophen is Tylenol.

• For fever or analgesia, acetaminophen suppositories can be used to relieve fever or analgesia instead of using oral acetaminophen.

• When relieving fever with acetaminophen suppositories, it is difficult to determine whether they dissolve well in the anus and are absorbed into the blood.

• Tylenol is brand names that contain acetaminophen.

• One suppository of acetaminophen contains 80 mg, 120 mg, 325 mg, and 650 mg of acetaminophen, respectively.

• A single therapeutic dose of acetaminophen suppositories is the same as a single therapeutic dose of oral acetaminophen.

• When oral acetaminophen cannot be taken orally, or when vomiting occurs after taking medicine, instead of using oral acetaminophen, an acetaminophen suppository is inserted into the anus or ibuprofen antipyretic to relieve fever.

Hydrocortisone suppository drugs

• Hydrocortisone is a type of corticosteroid.

• There are several types of suppositories containing hydrocortisone ingredients, such as Anusol-HC suppositories.

• To relieve anal pain caused by inflammation around the anus or inflammation in the anus, • It can be used to relieve anal edema.

• Hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal pruritus, and ulcerative colitis can be treated with hydrocortisone suppositories.
